Valentine's Day, and more!

15:04:00 APRILSKELTER 4 Comments

I was thinking of putting up two different blogposts for this but thought of saving time and effort so I did just one. (Ha! Lame I know.) I got loads of stuff to tell! Hence, there's "and more" on the title. lol. Okay, enough introductions and formalities..... Lezdothis!

So, last Tuesday, Andrea and I have finally watched Valentine's Day at Cabanas. Yes... just the two of us and seven more people at the venue I think. haha. Cora, Elai, Joe and Kenon were off to do their Man E report and Roy went home early, so it's really just us. Plus I know they really aren't eager about the movie as much as we are and we've planned about watching it for months now so, that's why. Seven more other people at the theater, approximately yes, haha, not because it's not "mabenta" there or sorts but because there are a lot of other places to watch, like the malls, etc. And yet we chose this place, cause it's near and let's say, "sulit ang bayad" and very organized. Also, most of the people would rather watch Miss You Like Crazy (that's on the other cinema) than watching "Valentine's Day". Hmmmmm, going back to the movie... I think it's a pretty good watch. Very star-studded but not losing the very essence of the story. Sa sobrang daming big stars, kokonti lang yung exposure nung iba. Haha. It's cool to watch Taylor Swift on her first movie stint, though. The role is very natural and she's funny, and I think they (together with Lautner) have given enough justice to their characters. Plus, she is taller than Lautner pala? Ha! I just noticed. They make a cute couple, though. Funny how you can count their scenes on your two hands and most of it, they were like kissing. lol. I feel like Emma Robert's (who's one of the reasons why I watched this movie) participation was.... so small that you barely even notice her. Nagdrive lang s'ya e oh. Naghanap ng nawawalang kapatid, tapos yun na! Well, no one's to blame, given an ensemble like that. Shirley Mclaine's funny. I kind of liked Jennifer Garner on this one. Awesome as always. Jamie Fox fit his role very much, and so are the others. Dami e. :-)

Eto pa pala, I thought matatapos yung movie na nakasakay lang ng eroplano si Julia Roberts. Hahahaha. Really short role.

At the end of the day, it has a simple fluffy story line but has almost all the love dilemmas that one can encounter in real life. Youngsters in love, complicated relationships, best friend to boyfriend type of relationship, even on the kiddos and of old age. Ha. And a happy ending too.

Although I think it has a lot of negative reviews over the net. Weh? I liked it e. Yun. I should see "Love, Actually" too, though. 'Cause I was tweet-talking with Niles Chong (Yes, the vocalist of Angulo) that morning when he tweeted about Valentine's Day is a "cheap imitation" of Love, Actually and that LA is 100% better. Hmmm, we'll see. But whatever it is, I enjoyed this movie. (And the two guys behind us on the theater did liked it too. haha. Mozarella cheese.)

Others.

This morning, we (me and my friends - slash - ManE groupmates) went to DPWH - Bulacan to conduct some interviews regarding machines and equipment and guess what? Think it's a lucky day! The engineers there are all very nice and approachable and they even helped us and brought us to one of their on going projects' site -- flood control in Balagtas, Bulacan this very same day. And free lunch too! (THE BEST. haha) I love talking with them 'cause in one way or another, I am learning. Sure did learn a lot not just about our topic but all about life and being an engineer itself. It's crazy how you get to bond with these prominent people who, who knows, are probably the one responsible in the construction of your streets. I felt so honored to be actually able to get the chance to interview one of the nicest Junior Project engineer in town! He is very amiable and nice, answered all our inquiries, and joked around with us even.  Somehow, I felt like, "Hey, this could be my job someday", I felt like this is where I BELONG. Parang gusto ko na tuloy mag-OJT o. haha. But the future's not so clear right now, though I'm pretty sure that time will some really soon. I believe! ha. We'd definitely come back there some time this week (er, next week.) to take some pictures and follow ups. This is really cool and I really enjoyed this day. March 5th sure is remarkable!
Tata for now! x
