NEW SONG ALERT: PILLOWTALK by ZAYN

After a rather dramatic and controversial exit from the world's biggest boyband of this generation (One Direction) last year, Zayn Malik (who goes by ZAYN now) is finally ready to show the real him (by real he meant the music that he felt real and suits his preferences and influences.). He's recently released his first ever single as a solo artist, Pillow Talk last January 29th.

I am personally stoked for this moment, being a Zayn AF girl and all. I may not agree with all his decisions but I am definitely proud of him as he is brave enough to pursue the real desires of his heart. As much hate that he's gotten because of that real music comment, listening to the song will make the non-believers realise why he has to do it (leave One Direction).

"I think I always kind of wanted to go. From like the first year really, I never really wanted to be there in the band. I just gave it a go because it was there at the time and then when I realized the direction we were going in with the music, I instantly realized it wasn't for me because I realized I couldn't put any input in; I couldn't give my opinion on this or that because it didn't fit the grain of what we were as a band or what we represented. So that's when it became frustrating for me, that's when I had to be like, I've got to start thinking about myself."

Pillow Talk is lit. He is born for this kind of sick beat. It is far from the things he would normally do if he is still with the boy band. "Pure, dirty, raw". Honest. Unrestricted.

Watching/Listening to the promotional interviews, one can definitely notice how better he has been since leaving the group, (healthier looking, happier of sorts) especially since he is mostly doing the music genre that he enjoys the most. He is very vocal about being grateful for the past five years and enjoying the time he has spent with the boys and it is just sad how the supposed-to-be hardcore fans don't/can't understand his reasons. (But both are good on their craft so I do not see the point of arguing which one is better, silly kids. Get over yourself.) I look forward to the day that the boys would get to sort out their differences and rekindle their friendship or at least be in talking terms (especially Zouis) because what they had in the past is a really good thing and it is sad for it to be put into waste. *cues History*

He was able to portray a song about sex on a music video without actually sexualizing and objectifying women and instead, used flowers and art. Heard (not sure if it is confirmed) that he has put his very own input in this one and I think it turned out nicely. (Nice may not be the appropriate word to describe it, though. Scorching hot.)
