Brian Dales and the rest of The Summer Set always write the most honest lyrics making their songs not only catchy when it comes to its beat and melody but scars listeners, too in a good way with its relatable (sometimes, inspirational) lines about love, sex and life. After releasing Legendary a few years back, they are definitely back with a bang with a new single and an album, Stories For Monday that will be out very soon (April 1st).
It was recently revealed in an interview how the band is on the verge of calling it quits, but I personally/selfishly hope that this is not the end for them yet. Here's their comeback (sort of, because it has been a while, yes?) single, Figure Me Out.

I'm a bit too pop for the punk kids,
but I'm too punk for the pop kids
I don't know just where I fit in cause when I open my mouth I know nobody's listenin'
To the words of a prophet who still can't turn a profit
Cause I don't fit in with the in crowd, but I'm too Hollywood to go back to my hometown
Cause they think that I'm famous when I know I'm a fraud
Who got too fucked up on the finer things to remember who he forgot
But I believe there's more to life than all my problems
maybe there's still hope for me to start again
Get my feet back on the ground
Pull my head out of the clouds
I think it's time for me to figure me out
Let's get back to the basics and take it back to the basement
Where I heard Born To Run for the first time and I stared at my dad in amazement
He said, "Son don't stop chasing great and keep pounding the pavement."
So I'd much rather die tryin' to make something sacred than live as another YouTube sensation
Cause I hate that they're famous for being something they're not
While I'm too hung up on the things I don't have to appreciate what I've got
But I believe there's more to life than all my problems
maybe there's still hope for me to start again
Get my feet back on the ground
Pull my head out of the clouds
I think it's time for me to figure me out
Time for me to figure me out
Time for me to figure me out
So if you hear this song turn it up real loud
Cause it's time for me to figure me out
Alright, if you hear this song turn it up real loud
Cause it's time for me to figure me out
I believe there's more to life than all my problems
I just wanna fall in love before I'm dead
So I can make my parents proud
Hope my feet don't fail me now
Cause it's time for me to figure me out

This song basically reminded me that there will come a point in this life when we would feel like there is always a need for validation from the people around us, like we wanted to make it big, we wanted to get noticed that we tend to lose sight of the more important things - of the things money cannot buy and no public recognitions can match. But validation's not what life is all about, innit? Or fitting in to the norms of the society? There will be pressures and hardships towards our way to real success and happiness, yes, but time will also come and we will be able to figure it all out.
When will that time be? Nobody really knows. But we could start working for a certain goal, and it will all fall to its places eventually.

That appears to be excellent however i am still not too sure that I like it. At any rate will look far more into it and decide personally!
