A Rundown Of My Favourite Overexposed Tour A.K.A. Maroon5/The Cab Live in Manila 2012 Moments
Originally posted in my Facebook
account, but since I am all on this "migration" to Blogger thingy,
might as well post this one too in here. And it is fun to take into account
these kinds of memorable stuff that you want to preserve in your mind for
forever. Experiences that you would share to anyone who would want to hear you
out, and make them feel how you've felt at that point in time. Most of the
comments from my friends on the original post told me that I am successful on
that latter aspect and I am happy for being able to let them relive my
treasured moments, and see it through my own eyes.
That, to me, is even more priceless.
This is in no particular order
(or maybe it is). I just want to share my "experiences" and the
random comments around us (some overheard, some are ours) to those who might be
interested about the whole thing. If you aren't and I tagged you, might as well
pretend that you are interested and read. Hahaha nah, really. ;)
1. July 13, I was on a David Cook
CD signing event when Ate Nette told me that Ate Che told her that the GA
tickets are already running out. Good thing I was in SM then, so I left the
line of people waiting for Dave to find a Ticketnet booth and managed to get
one.
2. Sept 18, I left the office,
6:38. Ate Nette texted me saying "Ang haba ng pila". I siriusly want
to Apparate just then. But you know, Muggle trains, I have no other choice.
3. I saw a long line of people
and without even thinking, I joined them. Didn't know it was for people with
bags that aren't allowed inside. Didn't know I could get straight inside on the
other entrance. Spent 5 long minutes in there. I tweeted Joey, Alex and
Alexander of The Cab to wait for me because I am still on my way. (As if they
would actually care haha)
4. I came technically just in
time for The Cab! As far as I can remember, they sang Temporary Bliss, Bad, a
song I didn't know (probably
from their other album. I only
knew songs from Symphony Soldier, eh), Endlessly, Animal, and Lala.
5. I learned Endlessly was co-written
by Bruno Mars. Or that's what I heard Alexander has said in his banter.
6. Inamol, I mean Animal was
co-written by the M5 boys, which I find actually really cool. It is one of
those The Cab songs that I like to sing along. And sang along, I did.
7. I was screaming "Alex!
Aleeeeeex!" "Jooooeeeeey!" But Ate Nette and Ate Che said I only
called out for Alex alone. Hahahaha
8. It has started at exactly 8pm.
When The Cab was done 30mins after, I silently wished they did sing all the
Symphony Soldier songs instead, because M5 didn't start their set until past 9.
Call it the calm before the storm.
9. "Tapos na The Cab. Uwi na
ko." - April
10. "The Cab lang naman
pinunta mo dito." - Ate Che
11. The "discussions"
in between. From XFactorPH, XFactor UK, Australia, The Voice US, The Voice UK..
Everything.
12. When they finally came out...
everything was a blur.
13. The crowd went wild. I cannot
even hear my own scream.
14. Adam. Noah. Levine. I.
Cannot.
15. What's with no.14? Hahahaha
stupid list, this must be. Sorry.
16. The constant checking of the
setlist that I have screengrabbed earlier this month. "Ano na next? Ano na
next?"
17. The crowd holding out lights.
Oh the perks of watching from up above haha. It was such a beautiful sight.
18. Payphone, Makes Me Wonder,
Lucky Strike. "Nonstop?" Disco-ish. Energy energy!
19. On the nonstop dancing, "Papatayin
nya ata tayo, ate."
20. On Adam's seductive moves,
"Whyyyyy?"
21. On Adam's shirt, "Take
it off!"
22. " Jeans! Take your jeans
off!" (Di ko kinaya 'tong komentong 'to, te. Hahaha)
23. The highest pitched "I
love you, Manila!" that I have EVER heard. Oh, Adam.
24. On Adam's dancing yet again,
"Baby, you don't have to do this! Let's go home!"
25. "Babyyyyy, take me home!"
(Ang kulit nito! Hahahaha)
26. Lucky mic stand.
27. On Wake Up Call, me to Ate
Nette: "Ate, ayan na fave mo! Paborito mo yan!"
28. Everytime Ate Che and I are
screaming side by side and Ate Nette would "sabunot" us (how does one
say that in English? Haha I still cannot think clearly) I cannot remember how
much.
29. Us blocking Ate Nette with
our singing and dancing.
30. Who would've thought watching
a concert could be a serious workout? Even better than Zumba.
31. Breatheless. It's getting
harder and harder to breathe.
Adam: "Is there anyone out
there 'cause its getting harder and harder to breathe.."
"I'M HERE!"
32. Us looking forward to the
slower songs, "Pahinga, pahinga!" Sway sway lang.
Crowd screaming: "We want
more! WE WANT MORE!"
Ate Che: "I want Adam! I
WANT ADAM!"
Encore:
33. She Will Be Loved in
acoustics. The most intimate perf of the night, I believe. It is beautiful.
34. They didn't sing Beautiful
Goodbye and Never Gonna Leave This Bed. Aw.
35. The crowd singing along to
EVERY song (maybe except for the one sung by James. I didn't know that one too.
Even Adam has "kodigo" haha. It is nice seeing him play the drums,
though)
36. Adam's smile of satisfaction
as the crowd sing along. ;)
37. Ate Nette teasing me about
tweeting. Haha so I did tweet a few and stopped and just focus on the show
instead.
38. The girl behind us commenting
everytime Adam gets on to the screen, "I love you, Adam! P+@*# asdfghjkl,
ang gwapo mo!"
39. The girl again, "P+@*#
asdfghjkl yung drummer, ang gwapo mo din!"
40. I died laughing.
Hahahahahahahaha
41. When they sang Don't You Want
Me, I was like, "Darren! Darren Criss! DARREN. CRISS!"
Adam singing: "Don't, don't
you want me?"
"I WANT YOOOUUU!"
42. Singing "Sexy
back." Yeah.
43. Singing and rapping to Stereo
Hearts by Maroon 5 featuring Adam Levine. :D
45. The emotional Daylight.
46. THE GANGNAM TEASE before
Moves Like Jagger. Whatever sanity that I have left after that 90mins more or
less, when he did a bit of Gangnam, I lost it.
47. I swear the crowd did (lost
it) too.
48. Perfect finale.
49. Body is aching all over the
next morning. Voice is cracking.
50. Listening to Overexposed.
Yes. Hangover, it is.
Photo taken at The Cab's Glorietta gig. Joey-biased photo. (of which I might tackle on another future post. When I get to have the time. *wink*) I don't have any Maroon 5 photo, because we watched from up above (haha not that I really mind). The experience in itself is already the best that we probably had. 'Til then.
