Wolverine

No, this is not a movie review.
But let me tell you a story. Random, sweet(?), funny story.

I really was supposed to head home to the province last Saturday after the coffee/breakfast meet up/planning our Thanksgiving trip with a friend. Which is also one of the reasons why I set it at 6AM even though it would mean I have to get up before 5AM to be able to get ready. Even when I barely have sleep every Fridays at the dorm for reasons I do not even know.
Then shish unfolded, one by one.
Workloads kept coming in and I ended up having to go back to the office on Saturday to finish stuff. (Wasn't the first time, though. This happened too, just a few weeks ago) One.
I planned to stay til 12pm and ended up actually staying until 3pm, because I had to. Two.
It was raining really hard when I came about. Three.
(Good thing the rain turned to drizzles in a matter of minutes.
Good thing I had my umbrella with me.)
And there is really a long queue at the MRT station. (As expected.) Four.
I'm too preoccupied with this book that I'm reading that the last thing I know, the train was on its last stop. I don't understand why people tend to flock on malls especially on weekends when staying at home, in bed all day is more appealing (to me, at least) and last Saturday there are like millions of them in TriNoma (exagge. But also, the volume is expected.) Five.
Just when you thought your weekend will be less stressful....
So I decided to go where I'm finding solace and yes, aside from the fact that I don't know where to get a newspaper that a cousin has asked me to get but didn't have the time to go get it earlier that day I took chances that maybe I could find them there, I went to a bookshop.
I bought a book (though not mine). I just hope my cousin won't get to read this because it is suppose to be a gift for her birthday come the 25th. Bought myself a simple white tee. Therefore I can conclude that (it doesn't matter if it is just a few bucks or a splurge) women really tend to shop when they are down-slash-feeling stressed.
I have transactions to make at a bank but I could not find BDO and I doubted if the bank is still open at 6pm so I spent longer time in the shop, longer than I should have had knowing that it is a weekend and this million of people would also want to go home, don't they?
Apparently the queue at the UV Express terminal is even longer than it used to. Six.
Then I saw him.
Wolverine.
No, not him. But a guy wearing a Wolverine tee.
And not just because the tee, but he's actually gorge.
The six shish forgotten.
I may be not a huge fan of comics but I'm fascinated by them but I don't think it's pop culture for I even have some Iron Man stuff myself. Although in my mind, I thought, since the movie has just been released, I deducted that he might be wearing it because of pop culture. (Pretty judgmental huh. lol.) And although he's such an eye candy, I focused on my book instead. I've been wanting to finish reading this anyway. (I did last night.)
I was a couple of people ahead of the line from where he is at so I'm pretty sure we won't be on the same vehicle ride. Much to my surprise, he made it to the cut off and more so, he was sitting in front of me.
Wolverine is in front of me.
Gah, how I wish he'd fall asleep so I can stare at him without him catching me. Hahahaha whut. But he was awake all the time. Oh well. I have a book to finish reading.
Just when I was pretty hooked with the flow of the story, somebody's phone rang. And guess what, hearing the intro it is no doubt Dayang Dayang (a folk song) and I'm trying so hard not to laugh. What the actual fug? It bothered me for a moment thinking that it might be from my other phone since I have that song in there and we used to pull pranks at each other before, setting this as the caller tone without the phone owner's knowledge. Relief has flooded me when the verse started and the song was in Tagalog I tried harder not to laugh because seriously?? There is a Tagalog version of this song? Hahaha I cannot wait to share it to my buddies.
I looked up at him and like me, he was struggling not to laugh. Nice try, mister, but on a split second I saw you smile. It made my day.
Almost.
Because what happened next truly made my day, my night.
He was fidgeting even before we made it to the bridge (where I'll be off) I wondered if he will be off the van too. But I signaled the driver to stop and what he did was....he opened the door for me.
I was so focused on my bag and stuff because it nearly fell on the ground and my high heels is also bothersome. Sadly, when I found leverage, the door is already closed.
What I regretted is not being able to say thank you for such nice act. It made me smile though when I saw from my peripheral vision that he was looking at me as the van began to leave.
I may or may not have been assuming things but hahahahahaha it was just amusing, thinking about it. That he might be..oh. Right. I'm probably just reading too much YA these days haha.
I don't even remember the face if we ever get to see each other again.
But the shirt.
Only the shirt.
Only Wolverine.
