NEW ALBUM / SONG ALERT: 25 / Remedy by Adele
Adele's latest record, 25 is such a jam. Totally. It may have taken her quite some time to come up with another banger but it is definitely worth the wait and 25 turned out to be nothing short of awesome, bagging sales, smashing world records here and there. Not that I ever doubted her songwriting skills, of course. I have always admired not only her songs but her whole personality especially the fact that she could be her bad ass self on interviews and of how she has handled fame and kept private things private (especially her personal life and family). Mainly, I loved how she has focused on making quality music, disregarding personal brands but focused on being the whole package and showing her real self despite all the pressures in the music industry.
Moreover, Adele has that vibe of being a best friend whom you have never had. Somebody who could put your feelings into words when you cannot. She's not just a performer but a person who is speaking to you (through her music) of the truth that could hurt you but at that certain moment, it is probably what you needed to hear. Her songs make you want to feel for your past love, existing or even if there is not. There is just power and emotional connection in the way she sings. What is even more commendable is her ability to embrace her sadness that according to her is probably one of her edges.
"The fact that I’m not shy or embarrassed to be falling apart,” Adele has said on one of her recent interviews with Time magazine. “Everyone falls apart, I think. A lot of people try to be brave and not shed a tear. Sometimes when you know someone else feels as shit as you do, or approaches things in a certain way just like you do, it makes you feel better about yourself. Even though my music is melancholy, there’s also joy in that."
"I hope I do bring joy to people’s lives, and not just sadness, but I think there’s there’s a comfort in it." She continued. Which brings us back to one of my current LSS off her latest record, Remedy. (The other one being Water Under The Bridge). The song gives me hope and comfort. It makes me believe in good ol' love that despite not having experienced love / falling in love with someone / be in a romantic relationship yet, the song just gets into me. It is lovely but not cheesy lovely, just lovely. (Does that even make any sense?) It is full of promises and yet there is trust.
As cynical as I may have been sometimes but I am a firm believer of love, of meeting the one true love, of sharing my completeness with him someday.
Falling in love is a beautiful thing. Thank you, mars Adele for reminding me.

I remember all of the things that I thought I wanted to be
So desperate to find a way out of my world and finally breath
Right before my eyes I saw, my heart it came to life
This ain't easy it's not meant to be
Every story has it's scars
When the pain cuts you deep
When the night keeps you from sleeping
Just look and you will see
That I will be your remedy
When the world seems so cruel
And your heart makes you feel like a fool
I promise you will see
That I will be, I will be your remedy
No river is too wide or too deep for me to swim to you
Come whatever I'll be the shelter that won't let the rain come through
Your love, it is my truth
And I will always love you
Love you
When the pain cuts you deep
When the night keeps you from sleeping
Just look and you will see
That I will be your remedy
When the world seems so cruel
And your heart makes you feel like a fool
I promise you will see
That I will be, I will be your remedy
When the pain cuts you deep
When the night keeps you from sleeping
Just look and you will see
I will be, I will be
When the world seems so cruel
And your heart makes you feel like a fool
I promise you will see
That I will be, I will be, I will be...
Your Remedy
